SUMMARY
- This position is responsible
for managing ‘Production Operations Support’ activities at a
large-scale production center for executing geo-coding related activities
that address both regional and global production requirements. This role
is responsible for supervising between 4 and 16 people. This role is under
the general direction of the Director of the production center (or the
center leader). The role has the responsibility to enable the
production center to meet project deliverables (and goals and objectives)
within the prescribed timeframe, funding parameters and resources
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Project and Budget Planning
- Oversees planning process for
production, including budgeting and estimating of project work
- Key lead to provide input to
optimize of Management Information System (MIS) to meet Global production
needs and requirements
- Provide technical and
analytical guidance for production management team
- Identifies opportunities and
develops processes and procedures to generate increased efficiencies
within global production
- Facilitates Execution Plan
(EP) activities within global production
- Project Execution
- Reviews project status
reports prepared by production managers and project leaders Reviews
recommendations to process and procedure modification. May assist production
managers in providing updates to the internal customers on project plan
changes, particularly those that impact delivery timing
- Leads production center
operations support team to enable timely project updates and to mitigate
any project variances, changes with Global Production, Global Field Ops
and senior management
- Collaborates with the
Production managers to establish and maintain clear, consistent project
management and communication with Global Field Organization and external
vendors/OPCs
- Assists the Director / Center
Leader to troubleshoot any problems and issues impacting execution
- Performance Management and
Training
- Works with HR, training
and/or Global Planning Group to develop training programs for
dissemination to project teams when needed to ensure consistency of
project management delivery
- Ensures compliance to
performance management guidelines
- Assists with any other
performance management, reward/recognition activities, as needed
- General
- Plans and forecasts the FTE
capacity and works with ‘Global Production Support Team’ to eliminate
/mitigate imbalances and associated risks
- Oversees assigned budget
(cost center) and ensures that all projects are maintained within budget
- Assists senior management in
monitoring cost projections and targets. Works closely with Finance
to estimate and monitor/control global production costing activities
- Drive/supports continual
improvement plans
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in
engineering/technical field or business administration required
- MBA or equivalent desirable
- Minimum 10+ years relevant
experience, 5+ year operations management experience required;
- Project Management
Professional (PMP) certification or demonstrable equivalent experience
required. Lean / Six sigma experience desired
- Combination of educational
qualification and work experience can be considered for equivalence
- Strong interpersonal
communication skills, including presentation, written and verbal.
- Exemplary organizational and
planning skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem
solving skills
- Advanced computer skills and
excellent knowledge of business software applications such as Clarity, MS
Project/Open Workbench and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to collaborate with
internal/external groups for effective problem resolution and change
management
- Strong Process oriented
skills with self initiative to drive continual improvements
